Program:Sergei Prokofieff Quinteto, op. 39
Formed in 2007 while studying Chamber Music at the School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto, Quinteto Contraste have continued their training to the highest international level at the École Normale in Paris, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels. They have recorded for radio station Antena 2, were invited to Encontros Internacionais de Música in Guimarães, and performed at the HARMOS Festival, the Foz do Cávado Festival and the Brussels and Liége Chamber Music and Contemporary Music Festival (Belgium).
In this recital, which also highlights Portuguese works by Eurico Carrapatoso and Sérgio Azevedo, Quinteto Contraste presents the work that Prokofiev wrote for Trapeze, a dance for the Russian Ballet inspired by circus life.
