Orquestra Sinfónica dedicates a programme to the works commissioned to Young Composers in Residence since 2009. From Dawn to Twilight over Zabriskie Point (Homage to William Turner), by Daniel Moreira, premiered in Santiago de Compostela and also marked the debut of Orquestra Sinfónica at Vienne’s Konzerthaus. La Mer Souleveé by Angela Bridge, currently residing in the UK and teaching in the Music Department of the University of Birmingham, was premiered under the direction of Michael Sanderling. The work by Marco Barroso, Bondage, conducted by Takuo Yuasa, led the orchestra through the sounds of jazz. Antologia do Tempo 3, by Daniel Martin, premiered in Matosinhos and was presented at Casa da Música, Ovar and Aveiro. Igor C. Silva’s Non”sense%)8$messages#_! (for a nonsense reality) integrates the recorded voice of a narrator and premiered under the direction of conductor Andrew Grams. These works commissioned by Casa da Música are now presented in a concert that aims at reviewing the State of the Nation.
