Program:
Moncef Genoud is a Swiss pianist born in Tunisia who has a career of over three decades and is one of the most representative jazz musicians in Switzerland. He is mainly known for his trio, though he has also played with important artists like Michael Brecker, Larry Grenadier, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bill Stewart, Idris Muhammad, Jack DeJohnette, Scott Colley and many others. After 12 albums as a bandleader, at the end of last year Genoud released his first solo album, Live in Cully, an example of his favorite repertoire: jazz standards and poprock music with inventive arrangements and plenty of room for improvisation.
Selma Uamusse is a great revelation of recent times, after years of association with Paulo Furtado’s Wraygunn. Born in Mozambique and living in Lisbon, Selma recently accompanied Rodrigo Leão on tour in a very successful partnership. After several concerts dedicated to Nina Simone, she released her first solo songs and is now presenting her new album in Autumn in Jazz.
