Sofi Jeannin is a specialist in choral music and has been appointed for very important roles: she was the Musical Director of the Choeur de Radio France and of the BBC Singers soon after - being the first woman to be named chief conductor of a BBC classical music ensemble. She will be ahead of Coro Casa da Música for the first time with a program that includes some of history's most distinguished female composers: from the mystical and visionary abbess of the twelfth century, Hildegard von Bingen, to legendary figures such as Clara Schumann and Lili Boulanger, culminating in some tremendous challenges posed by today's music, as is the case of the work by Kaija Saariaho that adds to singing the emulation of an electronic component accomplished only by the voices of the choir.
