A well-known conductor in the field of opera, Sian Edwards is also famous for working with the most prestigious groups of new music, such as the Ensemble Modern, the Klangforum Wien or the London Sinfonietta. She debuts at the head of Remix Ensemble with a programme that includes top figures of contemporary composition and two premieres commissioned by Casa da Música. The fascination for the theatrical side of the soloist and the inspiration from a book by Jacques Roubaud led Kaija Saariaho to transport into her personal language an already much-explored form such as the concert for soloist and orchestra. This will be an opportunity to hear once again the fantastic Guadagnini violin (1782) of Carolin Widmann, a great specialist in contemporary music. The evening ends with Unsuk Chin, who takes us to his childhood’s street theater in the company of the saltimbancos who used to travel through South Korea.
