    Taking advantage of the hot summer evenings, which are approaching fast, the terrace of the Café becomes a stage for bands and projects of various genres. Wednesday is reserved for showcasing new talents from music schools in Porto and surrounding area, with projects related to classical music and jazz. On Thursdays and Fridays, the eclectic range of events brings us folk, pop and blues with names like Golden Slumbers, PZ or Budda Power Blues, in addition to honourable representatives of the most recent music coming from Brazil like Alice Caymmi and Júlia Vargas. On the most festive evening of the year, the terrace becomes part of the elation that takes over the city, with Rodrigo Affreixo and his set of Portuguese music that everyone can dance to, perfectly suited to the occasion.

      “Matador”, the first song to be written for Demolition Derby, Minta & The Brook Trout’s most recent album, concentrates many of the themes that run through the album: artificial landscapes, the relationship with the passage of time, self-illusions and disillusionment and, finally, an attempt to make peace with a certain inner turmoil.

      The return of Filho da Mãe is an achievement. For himself, Rui Carvalho, and for all of us. Having gone through a pandemic transformed into a tunnel with no apparent way out, the musician saw the light flickering at its end mixed with various fictions, torments, doubts and uncertainties.

      Inspired by the forests of the Alto Alentejo, this quartet of traveling musicians met in Marvão, where they gathered to create and combine melodies influenced by different regions of the world. Os Sabugueiros present an interactive concert, full of energy, humor, stories and rhythms, creating a unique sound, solid as the mountainous landscape of the inland.

      Founded in 2016, at the invitation of the Se Rasgum Festival, Os Amantes have been making different and exciting readings of styles and facets of pop, always with love at the center of their lyrics. On stage, Jaloo (vocals), Leo Chermont (guitar) and Arthur Kunz (drums and programming) are vibrant ambassadors of the music that is made in the Amazonia today.

      Awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth most important artistic award, Lakha Khan is a living legend, an undisputed master of the sindhi sarangi (a national treasure), a guardian of the Indian songbook and a voice of unity and secularism. He has been an exponent of Rajasthani folklore since the beginning of his career, in the late 60’s.

      The project Suricata, which promotes a fusion between fado, jazz and blues, resulted from the musical complicity developed over the years between Pedro Gil (from Trásos-Montes) on the electric guitar, and Tércio Freire (from the Azores) on the baritone guitar.

      Emmy Curl, one of the most unique creative voices in music in Portugal, has traced a safe but surprising path over the last 15 years. To end one cycle and begin another, the singer-songwriter released, on April 9, a “best of” which she named 15 Years.
